New Name. New Logo. New Future.
On Tuesday 19 March 2019 (at 12:52 am AEST), after more than 6 months of waiting, Plantronics announced the new name of the combined company created when they acquired Polycom mid-2018.
Their new branding, whilst different to what we as partners of both Plantronics and Polycom are used to, is simply putting a shorter name and a different logo to an organisation that we are proud to be partnered with. (It's quicker to type, that's for sure!)
What is most engaging to us is that the driving force behind the company's new branding is people. It's not any different to what it used to be, and what we know working with the amazing individuals that we work with day to day, but the new site shares the company's focus, and all 4 points are right in line with IComm Values.
Plantronics and Polycom were both always about people, but the new brand brings it back to basics, and is definitely all about the KISS principle.
Poly Connects People, Not Things, By:
1. Creating calm in the chaos.
From the train to the open office — and every space in between — Poly makes connections more productive. Turn even the noisiest of spaces into sanctuaries for concentration. Deliver boardroom quality conferencing in huddle room spaces. Make larger rooms feel more inclusive.
2. Bridging the gap between platforms.
Operate across multiple conferencing ecosystems? So does Poly. Join your meeting with one click and concentrate on ideas in the air, not devices in the room.
3. Bringing productivity to where you are.
As the lines between home and the office blur, Poly makes it easier to hear, share, and see wherever, whenever.
4. Asking what’s next, not what if.
Poly's solutions respond to human behavior and get smarter all the time. Their cloud management tools deliver insightful analytics right now and so much more tomorrow.
TECHNOLOGY THAT WORKS,
THEN STEPS OUT OF THE WAY
Update 22/03/2019: Poly's Chief Marketing Officer, Amy Bardzukas, wrote an article on LinkedIn Pulse about the direction they went when they chose poly as the new name. It's very enlightening, and I'd highly recommend the read.
