Skype for Business: Conferencing Just Became Cheaper and Simpler

Just as workforces across Australia have become more mobile, dispersed and flexible – so have the communication costs risen for organisations to keep these people connected via virtual meetings from landline phones. That is all changing now thanks to an important release of Skype for Business PSTN Conferencing for Australian Office 365 users which is set to make conferencing cheaper and simpler. The new PSTN Conferencing feature allows Australian organisations to consolidate their meeting solutions and reduce complexity, while enhancing the way in which their employees collaborate across multiple locations and devices.

The added feature is a big win for organisations that currently use a third party to enable dial in conferencing to virtual meetings, as Skype for Business PSTN Conferencing may offer a more cost effective option.

Importantly, Skype for Business PSTN Conferencing has been designed with the end user in mind. By bringing together Skype for Business and PSTN Conferencing into one easy-to-use solution, employees have one Microsoft communications platform to initiate a small or large meeting involving internal or external parties, or both.

Now, when staff arrange a standard meeting in outlook, invitees will automatically be able to join the meeting via Skype for Business or dialling in from any other device including landline, mobile, PC or tablet. The meeting organiser also has the option to dial-out from Skype for Business to bring other participants into the meeting.

Overall, Skype for Business PSTN simplifies unified communications for organisations, as being able to use and rely on the one Microsoft platform as your sole communications provider streamlines costs with the one set of subscription costs per user, per month. It also means less need for third party hardware and software that come with associated costs, including effectively integrating them with Office 365.

Skype for Business PSTN Conferencing is now available to Australian customers who have an Office 365 Enterprise E5 subscription.

As Microsoft releases new cloud capabilities in Office 365, such as PSTN conferencing, having the right technology partner to assists with integration and adoption is critical. IComm, as Australia’s leading integrator of unified communications and Skype for Business specialist, is well equipped to help Office 365 customers assess if the Skype for Business PSTN Conferencing feature is a good option for them, by comparing it with existing conferencing providers and costs. Icomm can also work closely with you to set up Skype for Business PSTN Conferencing and train your employees on how to arrange, join and moderate meetings.
