Mastering AI in Accounting
IComm represents Microsoft at Intuit QuickBooks Across APAC
If you spotted Dan or Georgia sprinting through an airport recently, good news, they weren’t dodging deadlines. They were representing Microsoft and IComm at Intuit QuickBooks’ Master AI in Accounting Tour, sharing how Copilot can support day-to-day accounting work across Asia–Pacific.
Throughout October and November, the pair delivered Microsoft Copilot demonstrations to approximately 3,000 accounting professionals across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Singapore, Hong Kong, Manila and Kuala Lumpur. That is a lot of cities, a lot of boarding passes and a lot of people realising AI can genuinely make their day easier.
The challenge
Accountants move quickly and think even faster. They also have a strong radar for anything that feels impractical or overhyped. Intuit wanted to cut through the noise and show real, grounded AI that enhances accounting workflows, not disrupts them. We were brought in to help make that happen.
What we delivered
Dan and Georgia delivered high-impact, practical Copilot sessions focused on real accounting work, not theoretical concepts.
The sessions showed how Copilot can:
Write and correct complex Excel formulas
Summarise long, painful email threads
Draft clear responses that actually sound human
Build polished PowerPoint decks without a three-hour design spiral
Reduce the amount of time spent wondering who invented spreadsheets and why
The message landed consistently across all cities. Copilot isn’t replacing accountants, it is supporting them, especially with time-consuming tasks that drain hours without contributing skill or judgement.
Georgia summed up the experience:
“Speaking in Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur was pretty surreal. Both sessions filled so quickly that extra seating had to be added, which really showed how much appetite there is for practical AI. After each presentation people were lining up for photos, which was a real buzz.”
The response
Engagement across APAC was huge. Firms requested follow-up resources, additional enablement sessions and copies of the presentations. Feedback praised how clear, grounded and genuinely useful the content was.
Both Dan and Georgia shared their thanks for the Intuit and Microsoft teams, and acknowledged their fellow presenters, including Inbal Rodnay and Dale Pearson from Intuit QuickBooks.
**“Dan’s work ethic, professionalism and focus on delighting clients were outstanding. He could not have better represented the IComm and Microsoft platforms.
Georgia was also fantastic. She delivered her presentation naturally and engagingly, and was completely focused on positive client outcomes.”**
– Dale Pearson, Intuit QuickBooks
Both Dan and Georgia’s natural, approachable delivery were called out repeatedly, reinforcing the value of practical AI guidance delivered by people who genuinely understand the work accountants do.
Dan’s travel companion, Joe Cool
A note from Dan
“This has been such an incredible roadshow to be a part of and I’m so very grateful for the opportunity to represent Microsoft and IComm on a global stage.”
Every good roadshow has a mascot. For this one, it was Joe Cool, Dan’s long-term travel companion, pictured with his guitar finally getting his moment under the spotlight.
(Note that Joe Cool will not be joining future sessions. He has travelled with Dan since he was 18 and was allowed on stage for a photo just this once. Even mascots have boundaries.)
Wrapping up
The tour showed one thing clearly, accountants don’t need abstract ideas about AI, they need tools that make their day easier. Across seven cities and thousands of attendees, the response was the same, Copilot delivers real value when it is taught by people who understand the work behind the numbers. We were proud to represent Microsoft, support Intuit’s vision and show accountants across APAC that practical AI is not a future concept, it is something they can use right now.
