Today, business productivity and success relies on being able to conduct business meetings face-to-face across multiple locations and long distances. However, this is only possible with the latest tools that allow employees to transform the way they work.

At Microsoft Ignite it was recently announced the launch of the next evolution of its video collaboration solutions, making digitally advanced meetings a reality for many more businesses worldwide.

The next generation of Skype Room Systems (SRS) allows SMBs, as well as large enterprises, to enter the video conferencing market at a lower price point. The new SRS works with Skype for Business Online or Skype for Business on Premise. SRS can easily be used with existing TV hardware and comes with a Surface Pro 4, which is core component of the system.

The new SRS allows businesses to more easily take Skype for Business into their meeting rooms. It also means teams can work as though they are in one place, quickly and easily join meetings, instantly share content in the room and remotely – all from a touch screen device.

Microsoft partners are working on hardware that seamlessly integrates with the new SRS including the Logitech SmartDock (coming soon), Crestron’s Skype Room Systems (available at the end of this year) and the Polycom MSR Series (available early 2017).

The new SRS video conferencing suite will be available to
businesses across the globe the first week of December.

In the lead up to the launch, IComm and Microsoft will be hosting an event to showcase the new SRS. The event will walk businesses through a live demonstration of how the new SRS works, as well as demonstrations of the devices partners are developing to integrate with it and the associated costs.

Experts in unified communications will also be on hand to discuss organisation’s meeting room needs and the full range of options available.

The event is being held on Wednesday 30 November at Microsoft Australia in Melbourne. To RSVP (by 22 November) please visit Next Generation Video Conferencing: An event hosted by IComm and Microsoft.
